The Ministry continues its efforts to raise public awareness in the fight against cultural heritage trafficking, destruction, and illicit excavations. In this regard, a significant step has been taken, especially to reach younger generations. The digital comic book "Artemis' Journey", prepared for middle and high school students, will be made available in both Turkish and English versions, allowing it to reach a broad audience. The Ministry aims to use this digitally accessible comic as an educational tool for the preservation and transmission of cultural heritage to future generations. The comic book was created to highlight issues such as the protection of cultural heritage, trafficking, and destruction. Available in e-book format, "Artemis' Journey" will be accessible digitally to both students and the general public.
Bu doğrultuda, To ensure widespread dissemination of the content, posters promoting the comic will be displayed in middle schools, high schools, and university faculties throughout the province via the Provincial and District Directorate of National Education. These posters will provide information on how to access "Artemis' Journey" digitally. Through this project, the Ministry aims to increase public awareness regarding the preservation of cultural heritage, with a particular focus on raising awareness among young people. It is anticipated that the comic book "Artemis' Journey" will contribute to the development of a broader sense of social responsibility regarding the protection of cultural heritage. In a statement on the matter, the Director of the Center, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Doğan, emphasized that the comic was designed to appeal to young people, making the message of cultural heritage preservation more effectively conveyed to younger generations. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doğan stated: "Our country’s rich cultural heritage is our most valuable treasure. However, this heritage is currently facing threats such as trafficking, destruction, and illicit excavations. Our goal is to raise public awareness to address these issues. It is especially important for middle and high school-aged youth to become aware of the need to protect cultural heritage. 'Artemis' Journey' is one of the most effective tools to achieve this goal. Through this story, young people will not only have fun but also learn a powerful message about the preservation of cultural heritage.
