The Cultural Heritage Conservation Application and Research Centre, which operates with the mission of keeping the unique cultural fabric of Igdir alive and passing it on to future generations, is trying to carry out a major compilation project with a focus on the tradition of storytelling. Within the framework of this comprehensive study, the centre first visits the older generations who are known in the region and keep this tradition alive. Their narratives constitute the essence of Iğdır's storytelling tradition. Detailed interviews and research are conducted to understand how these tales reflect the history and culture of the region. In addition to the collected tales, information from the narrators is added to a database that includes the context, teachings and cultural context of the tales. Thus, it becomes clear that the tradition of storytelling is not only a storytelling practice, but also a heritage that reflects the deep history and culture of the region. This project makes a major contribution to the goal of preserving Iğdır's rich cultural heritage for future generations through the documentation and preservation of the tradition of storytelling. The Cultural Heritage Conservation Application and Research Centre continues to stand out as an important initiative that strengthens and preserves regional belonging.
